BPD officers arrest two, seize 16 grams of ‘meth’
Assisting the Logan County Sheriff’s Office with the search for a wanted individual led the Booneville Police Department to two arrests and the seizure of about 16 grams of suspected methamphetamine and $2,790 in cash last Wednesday.
“We went to a residence searching for a suspect who is wanted by the county. We made contact with a guy there who has a search waiver on file for other violations,” said BPD Lt. Ben Villarreal. “We searched the residence looking for the other suspect but on patting down the resident we found 2.6 grams of (suspected) meth in his pocket and the cash.”
Officers subsequently located another 14 grams of the suspected controlled substance, scales, baggies, syringes, and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia.
Villarreal said he anticipates a charge of possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver and other charges against both a male and female who lived at the residence.
According to a BPD Facebook page, the Arkansas State Police assisted the BPD with the case.
