Former Fort Smith grad selected as assistant superintendent of HR

Christopher Davis, a Northside High School graduate, has been selected as the assistant superintendent of
human resources and campus support for Fort Smith Public Schools. Davis has served as the district’s supervisor of human resources since 2019.

A graduate of Northside High School has been named the new assistant superintendent of human resources and campus support for the Fort Smith Public School District.

Christopher Davis, a 2003 Northside grad with Mountain Home connections, has served as the district’s supervisor of human resources since 2019.

In his new role, Davis will oversee all aspects of human resources for the district including athletics and activities functions.

“I am excited to transition into this role within the district and look forward to continuing to serve and provide support to our educators and staff as we begin a new school year,” Davis said in a news release.

Terry Morawski, superintendent for Fort Smith Public Schools, commended Christopher Davis as the new assistant superintendent of human resources and campus support for the Fort Smith Public School District, calling him "an exceptional leader."

Davis, who has a doctorate of education in school leadership from Arkansas Tech University, previously served as an assistant principal at Northside High School. He has also worked as a middle school principal and high school assistant principal in Huntsville, as well as band director and music educator in Mountain Home.

Davis and his wife, Sarah (Kesner) Davis have two sons, Landon and Logan.

“Dr. Davis is an exceptional leader and we are confident in his abilities to lead and serve the 2,000-plus employees working within the district,” said Terry Morawski, superintendent for Fort Smith Public Schools.
