FORT SMITH, Ark. – Junior Kelsea Geschwentner paced the UAFS women’s cross country team throughout the regular season, and she didn’t miss a step in the postseason Heartland Conference Meet.

Geschwentner posted a 13th-place overall finish to lead UAFS to a fourth-place finish in the 6k event, which was hosted by Dallas Baptist at Mansfield, Texas.

Dallas Baptist won the event with 20 points, followed by University of Texas of the Permian Basin (55), Newman (75), UAFS (102), Oklahoma Panhandle State (134) and Texas A&M International (160).

Geschwentner covered the course in 22:22.5 to lead the UAFS contingent and earn Honorable Mention All-Heartland Conference honors.

Sophomore Katy Carter was 27th with a time of 23:12.2, freshman Hannah Holstein was 36th with a time of 23:30.8, freshman Natalie Flippo was 47th with a time of 23:53.4, sophomore Carlee Rodriguez was 54th with a time of 24:16.5, junior Lydia Humphrey was 63rd with a time of 25:07.4, junior Emily Nobles was 77th with a time of 26:46.3 and freshman Jaycee Mayfield was 79th with a time of 27:49.7

Kelsey Bruce of Dallas Baptist won the event with a time of 20:39.8. Dallas Baptist had runners finish in the Top 3 spots.
