Will face Waldron in 3A state tournament Wednesday

Allowing no third quarter points and pulling away at the free throw line after Fountain Lake head coach Jake Dettmering was ejected for two technical fouls with 41.3 seconds to go in a 50-36 Bearcat win.

The Bearcats (28-3) were down at the half for the third straight game, but had pulled ahead 31-24 through three quarters and led the rest of the way.

Logan Bradley scored 20 points, had eight rebounds and three blocked shots, the third of which apparently was the impetus for the double technical.

Grant Goers scored 13 points, had six rebounds and four assists. He scored eight first quarter points.

Jordan Mungle scored 16 points for the Cobras who lost to the Bearcats for the fourth time this season.

The Bearcats will be the three seed from Class 3A Region 2 and will face Waldron, the two seed from the 3A-1 at 5:30 Wednesday in the Class 3A state tournament in Osceola. The Bearcats have beaten the Bulldogs twice this season.

Fountain Lake (24-9) will face the top seed from the 3A-1, Valley Springs, at 2:30 Wednesday.
