Three of the four south Logan County basketball teams are in action tonight in must-win games in their respective district tournament fields.

Booneville’s Lady Bearcats (5-18) are seeded seventh and will face Perryville, the six seed, in the District 3A-4 tournament being held at Two Rivers High School in Ola. Perryville swept the regular season series.

The third game of the night, tipoff is slated for 6:30. The winner of the game will advance to play third seeded Lamar at 6:30 Tuesday.

Both Magazine teams will be in action at the District 2A-4 tournament, being held at Ted Lyons Gymnasium in Danville.

The Lady Rattlers (10-16) are seeded sixth and will face seven seed Hackett in the tournament opener at 6 p.m. Magazine swept the regular season series against the Lady Hornets.

The winner of the game will advance to face third seeded Hector, who Magazine split with during the regular season, at 6:30 Tuesday.

The Rattlers (5-19) are seeded seventh and will face sixth seed Hector at 7:15. Hector swept the regular season series, including a game Friday night in Magazine.

The winner of the game will advance to face third seeded Mountainburg, who Magazine split with during the regular season, at 7:15 Tuesday.

The Bearcats (24-2) are the top seed in the 3A-4 boys bracket and are off until Wednesday when they will face either Perryville, the four seed who plays Tuesday against the winner of tonight’s game between Perryville, the fifth seed, and Two Rivers, the eighth seed.

The Bearcats are already qualified for the Class 3A regional tournament in Perryville next week.
