Score three times in 38 seconds.

The fourth quarter at Ozark got off to a miserable start for the visiting Booneville Bearcats, but they stared down the adversity along with the Hillbillies and went on to a 42-20 win for the second straight year at Hillbilly Stadium.

They did so quickly as well, scoring three times in a span of 38 seconds.

Facing a penalty induced fourth-and-12 at their own 25 the quarter began with a Michael Hesson punt that Tyler Sanders returned 24 yards to the Bearcat 33-yard line.

Ozark quarterback Dawson Dietz then connected with Hayden Sanders for a touchdown to cut a Bearcat lead to 21-14.

There were plenty nervous folks on the visiting sideline when the ensuing kickoff got away from Ethan Dobbs. Dobbs ran down the loose football at the 11 and his return to the Ozark 44.

From there, Carson Ray carried for 5 and 13 yards and later converted a third-and-4 with a 7-yard gain to the 13. Hesson took it in from there and it was 28-14 with 8:49 to play.

Ray had his second straight 100-yard game with 19 carries for 113 yards.

When Ozark (0-1) failed to field Gavin Kent’s kickoff, Hunter Pence recovered for the Bearcats (2-0) at the Ozark 38.

Quarterback Evan Schlinker, who has taken over since a season ending knee injury to Brandon Ulmer, hit Ethan Dobbs for touchdown on the next play and it was 35-14 with 8:43 remaining.

That was the quarterback's second touchdown pass of the night to Dobbs and his third of the game. Schlinker was 4-for-4 overall for 82 yards with Dobbs catching 3 passes for 68 yards and Anthony McKesson’s reception covering 14 yards and resulting in a score.

Ironically, Schlinker was also 4-for-4 -- for 35 yards and a touchdown and ran for a touchdown -- in his first start last year in Waldron.

The Hillbillies got a 20-yard Dawson Dietz to Bryant Burns completion one play after Kent’s next kickoff but Dietz's next throw was picked off by Ian Suttles and with Andrew Robertson running interference on Dietz, Suttles completed a 68-yard return and it was 42-14 with 8:11 left in the game.

Suttles’ pickoff was the third of Dietz. Hesson had the other two. Dietz was also sacked six times, three of them by Noah Reyes, for 48 yards in losses, leaving Dietz with minus 25 yards rushing to go with his 184 yards passing on 14-of-20 passing.

Ozark got a 9-yard touchdown run by Trevor Moore with 2:26 to play to set the final.
