Including win the state title in the long jump, Brandon Ulmer scored 20 points in three events to lead the Bearcats to a sixth place overall finish in the Class 1A-4A state indoor meet in Fayetteville Friday.

Ulmer jumped 21’ 6.25 inches to win that event and also ran the 400-meter dash in 51.61 seconds for a second place finish to Pea Ridge’s Conner Escajeda’s 51.45.

Ulmer also finished seventh in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.62.

The Bearcats also got another nine points from Evan Schlinker, whose 21’ 1.5” long jump was good enough for fifth place. The sophomore was also fourth in the 400-meter dash.

Ethan Dobbs was the third Bearcat to score, picking up two points for his seventh place finish in the long jump — giving the Bearcats 16 points in the event. Dobbs jumped 19’ 9.25”.

Austin Dobbs also matched the placement mark in pole vault but was eliminated in the tie breaker and Noah Reyes was 10th in the shot put.

Lilly Taylor vaulted 8 feet to finish in a tie for 5th, good for 3.5 points in in the women’s division. Bailey Denton also finished in a tie for 7th for another 1.5 points, by clearing 4’ 8” in the high jump.
