The Booneville Seventh Grade Bearcats got 122 yards and three touchdowns from Ricky Ross and rolled over Pea Ridge, 38-14, in their season opener Thursday at Bearcat Stadium.

Ross rumbled 70 yards on the first play of the game and Ross added the two point conversion himself.

Pea Ridge moved to the Bearcats 13 with their initial possession, but after a time out Joe Adams was stopped for a 2-yard gain by Randon Ray and Elijah Ferguson; Ray threw Logan Stewart for a 4-yard loss, Ray and Brandon Parrish threw Adams for another yard loss and Stewart was sacked by Ray and Parrish on fourth down.

Ray, who finished with 95 yards, also capped the ensuing 80-yard drive with a run of 66 yards to make it 14-0.

Parrish caused a fumble the Ferguson recovered to set up a 1-yard Ross touchdown and Ray two-point conversion to make it 22-0.

Arron Copher recovered a second Blackhawk fumble of the half and Ross ran 26 yards for his third score on the next play. Ray’s two pointer made it 30-0.

Pea Ridge got on the board just over seven minutes into the second 20-minute half on a 28-yard run by Stewart to make it 30-6.

Five plays later Ferguson went 57 yards and also added the extra two for a 38-6 lead.

Trevor Blair ran 30 yards for a touchdown and Brayden Mincks added the extra two points to make it 38-14with 1:31 to go.

The seventh grade Bearcats will be in action again tomorrow at Gravette. Kickoff is at 5:30.
