The Brookings Institution states that there are 40 million working poor in the United States. Unless you are filthy rich, you all know some of these people. The Affordable Care Act/Obamacare was created to try to help those people. The Republican-controlled House of Representatives voted over 50 times to scrap Obamacare and all the Republican members in Arkansas and Oklahoma voted to scrap it. They didn't care that thousands would die without any health care. At the Senate level, Sens. Boozman, Cotton, Langford and Inhofe also voted to scrap it. Sens. Murkowski, Collins and McCain voted no and that's why Don the Con hated McCain so much.
Be assured that if the Republicans keep control of the House and gain even a couple more seats in the Senate, they will try to kill Obamacare again (Sen. McConnell just said it). It's time for the voters to stop being suckered by the Republicans with Gawd, Guns and Gays and focus on what is really important, health care.
The Republicans are hoping the voters will pass an amendment to the state constitution that requires a photo ID to vote, even while too many Republican senators are going to jail for corruption and others are looking over their shoulders, fearing the FBI. Even the gov'nor's nephew has been accused of corruption. The photo ID is supposed to stop voter fraud, but it is nonexistent. It's really about voter suppression to keep black voters out and a new Jim Crow law will be created. It's outrageous that a voter ID law will be voted on but a term limits law against the scoundrels in the state House won't be allowed. Will Rogers said it over 80 years ago, "The short memories of American voters is what keeps politicians in office."
