Logan Arliss Green, 94, of Booneville, Arkansas, passed from this life on Friday, Aug. 17, 2018. He was born July 8, 1924 in Magazine, Arkansas to Asa and Lillie (Loyd) Green.
Logan was a faithful member of Reveille Primitive Baptist Church, serving 59 years as deacon. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, stationed in Hawaii. A career music educator, Logan taught at both Magazine and Booneville High Schools, then was 25 years at Westark Community College as Choral Director. He frequently commented how thankful he was to have made his living doing something he enjoyed so much. After his retirement he was a dedicated member of the Arkansas Retired Teachers Association.
He is preceded in death by five brothers, Samuel, Ishmael, Garvin, Roland, and Alfred Green; four sisters, Evelyn McCaslin, Claudia Judkins, Dulcie Cecil, and Alma Newsom.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Roberta (Davis) Green; one daughter, Melissa Beauchamp (Keifor) of Memphis, Tennessee; three sons, Mark Green (Pam) of Booneville, Robert Green (Rachel) of Ripley, Mississippi and Evan Green (Lisa) of Ratcliff; 22 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2018 at the Reveille Primitive Baptist Church with burial in Evans Cemetery near Magazine, under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Reveille Primitive Baptist Church.
