The Booneville Bearcats and Lady Bearcats went into spring break by sweeping double headers from Two Rivers Friday night at the Billy Kiersey Baseball/Softball Complex.

In what was scheduled as six inning games, the Bearcats (5-5, 3-1 Conference 3A-4) won 15-0 in three innings and 10-2 in five innings.

Winning pitchers for the Bearcats were brothers Carson Ray (2-0) and Randon Ray (1-0). Carson Ray also took over behind the plate for his brother’s outing.

Mike Hesson was 3-for-3 with an RBI in the opener and Blakley Cobb hit two doubles and Cobb, Brandon Ulmer and Carson Ray all having two RBI.

In the nightcap it was Cam Brasher and Ulmer hitting triples and Cobb and Ulmer having two RBI games.

Scoring more than 10 runs in an inning in both games, the Lady Bearcats (6-1, 4-0) swept their games 18-4 and 12-0.

Brooklyn Zarlingo hit an inside-the-park grand slam home run in a 10-run third inning of the opening game. Brook Turner had three hits in four at bats and Haley Gray had two hits and two RBI.

In the nightcap Shelby Posey circled the bases on a ball to right field during a 11-run fourth inning for her third home run and Posey and Kassidey Thompson both had two hits and two RBI.
