‘Cool Schools,’ ‘Heart of a Teacher’ to premiere online every Thursday

The Arkansas Educational Television Network laucned a new digital series celebrating Arkansas schools and the programs and teachers that make them unique last Thursday, Feb. 7, through the public media network’s website and social media outlets.

Each Thursday, a new episode of “Cool Schools,” which highlights unconventional school programs, or “Heart of a Teacher,” recognizing the lifelong impact educators have on generations of students, will premiere on AETN’s Facebook (@aetntv) and YouTube (aetntv) pages, as well as at aetn.org/coolschools.

Magazine’s Kay Wortham will be featured in a segment of “Heart of a Teacher.”

“AETN is making a strong move into the digital space with ‘Cool Schools,’ our debut digital-first series,” AETN Executive Director Courtney Pledger said. “Moving into the future, we are meeting audiences where they are – on air, online, on video-on-demand and face-to-face in Arkansas communities.

“With K-12 education as a strong priority for our network, we made the choice with ‘Cool Schools’ to celebrate and support education in Arkansas. Each week a new group of students, teachers and parents will be our subject, highlighting small and large schools alike, fostering school and community pride throughout the state.”
