A Booneville man has been charged with rape in a case in which a woman accused him of having had non-consentual sex with her, resulting in pregnancy.
According to an arrest warrant affidavit, the Arkansas State Crime Lab found that Brendan Andre Maloy, 21, could not be excluded as the father of the child for which product of conception samples were submitted in February of last year.
In an interview, the affidavit states, Maloy denied any sexual contact with the victim for which the product of conception test was conducted.
Public defender Rena Beth Wright was appointed to represent Maloy Friday. She entered a plea of not guilty and future court appearances of April 1 and April 22 were set by 15th Judicial District Circuit Judge Jerry Don Ramey.
Maloy is free on a $50,000 bond.
Rape is a Class Y felony.
