FBT Bank & Mortgage  will host its second annual Give ‘N’ Get Outdoors event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on  Saturday, Sept. 15 at its banking center at 7199 Sheridan Road in White Hall. For every five food items donated, individuals can enter a drawing to win a L'Aigle Deer Blind valued at $850, according to a news release.

The food drive will benefit the White Hall Community Food Pantry. Guests can also expect free sandwiches provided by Scotty Ray’s BBQ, a bounce house for children, and music. To help Arkansans prepare for the 2018 hunting season, White Hall Motorsports and Spencer’s Marine will showcase the latest boats and utility vehicles.

“FBT is once again kicking off the hunting season in a big fashion, while also recognizing that the fall and winter months present a special burden on food pantries to help our neighbors not go hungry,” said Craig Attwood, executive vice president and director of banking for Jefferson County.

“We’re celebrating the long-standing tradition of hunting while helping stock pantries as the winter holidays approach.”

In 2017, White Hall residents donated six truckloads of non-perishable food items. FBT is accepting food donations at its banking center on Sheridan Road now through Sept. 15, and anyone who drops off donations can enter to win the deer stand. Entries to win the deer stand increase for every five items donated. While any donation is welcome, The Pantry is asking for the following items: Canned meats, canned soup, canned veggies, jelly, mac and cheese, oil, pancake mix, peanut butter, sugar, syrup.
