Fireworks will start tonight at 9:15 at Bearcat Stadium.
The show, which is sponsored by the City of Booneville and the Booneville Development Corporation/South Logan County Chamber of Commerce, will be preceeded by a performace from the Sweet River Bandat 7:30. Stadium gates open at 7.
The show will be the same size as the 2017 show, according to BDC/Chamber Executive Director Susan Bulger.
Kettle corn will be available but otherwise, concessions are not expected, though attendees are invited to bring lawn chairs and their own drinks, Bulger said.
The city of Booneville also has an ordinance concerning fireworks which states fireworks are permitted between the hours of 11 a.m. and 10:30 p.m., only on the Fourth of July, except in the downtown area, where fireworks are always prohibited.
The downtown area is defined as north to Fifth Street, south to First Street, west to Kennedy Street and east to McCandless Avenue.
