A Rogersville, Tenn., man is facing charges of commercial burglary and carrying a weapon after he was chased down and held by the father of a business owner who was apparently about to be robbed.
According to an arrest warrant affidavit, Eric Travis Emerson, 34, entered a local hair care salon with a large Bowie knife in his possession, which he allegedly held behind him though it was seen by the business owner.
The business owner told police Emerson locked the door and was in the process of unplugging the “Open” sign when he heard a vehicle approach. He then fled the scene only to be chased down by the business owner’s father.
The commercial burglary charge against Emerson is a Class C felony. The carrying a weapon charge is a misdemeanor.
