Rockin’ Robin’s Cafe will hold its 6th annual car show from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in downtown Booneville.
The show will be held along Broadway and Second Street with the Broadway blocked off from Main to Second and Second blocked off from Broadway to the entrance of the First Western Bank parking lot.
Gillett launched the car show in 2013 because it works hand-in-hand with the theme of her restaurant and gift shop, located at 266 North Broadway. Rockin’ Robin’s features a checkerboard motif inside that hearkens to the 1950s.
The first show had limited sponsorship but by the second netted a little more than $2,000 for charities she said. The charities beneficiaries this year are Arkansas Children’s Hospital, a military group to be named and trade school scholarships.
Plaques will be awarded to owners of the top 20 vehicles through participant voting. There are two “best of show” awards for which there will be a plaque and a cash prize with one being determined by participant voting and the other by spectator voting.
Last year’s show drew 43 entries and there have been as many as 52 in previous years.
Besides the automobiles, spectators can take part in various games including a hula hoop contest while listening to live music from the Sweet River Band. Other attractions will include a bounce maze and other games.
Booth registration forms are available at Rockin’ Robins and at www.rockinrobinscafe.com. Call Gillett at 675-0400 for more information.
