Game started at 6:10

In a game full of delays and big plays the Booneville seventh grade Bearcats splashed their way to a 28-6 win in Gravette Thursday.

The game was pushed to a 5 p.m. start time but heavy rains and lightning pushed that back to about 6:10 and also caused the shortening of the running clock halves from 20 to 15 minutes.

That would be plenty for Ricky Ross, who ran for 156 yards on only four carries. His first carry went for 70 yards and came after he corralled a loose football. Ross also ran for a two point conversion and an 8-0 lead.

Randon Ray had a hand and an arm in the next two touchdowns, both before the intermission. The quarterback threw for 42 yards to Eiljah Ferguson to make it 14-0 with just over six minutes left in the half and he ran 41 yards for a score just 21 seconds before the half to make it 20-0.

Though held to just 56 total yards, Gravette got in the game on a reverse play that saw Dominick Mask go 70 yards for a touchdown with 11:49 to play cutting the lead to 20-6.

Ross went 70 yards for the second time of the game to start the next Bearcat (2-0) possession and it was 28-8. Ray added the two point conversion.

The Bearcats will next play at Alma Thursday. Kickoff is set for 5:30.
