Teach preschoolers about nutrition
Good Nutrition is Magic!, a free program for preschoolers held in conjunction with Fort Smith Public Schools, will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Fort Smith Public Library, 3201 Rogers Ave. Local magician Matt Passmore will show preschoolers ways to keep their bodies healthy. Nutritionist Trina Stark will present quick tips.

Tickets available for Kistler benefit
The 16th annual "A Night in the Caribbean," a benefit for the Gregory Kistler Treatment Center, will be held from 6-11 p.m. Saturday at the DoubleTree by Hilton Fort Smith City Center, 700 Rogers Ave. Live dance music will be provided by Mr. Cabbage Head and the Screaming Radishes. The event also will include Caribbean cuisine, an open bar, a special Mojito bar, live and silent auctions and more. Live auction items include jewelry, a Pit Boss wood pellet grill, a custom man's suit, a home or office security system, a Cardinals baseball package and more.
The Kistler Center provides occupational, physical and speech-language therapy to children. Tickets are $75 per person and are available at www.kistlercenter.org or by calling 785-4677.
Sign up for adult card class
The Van Buren Public Library, 1409 Main St. in Van Buren, will host a Spring and Easter card-making class for adults 18 and older from 1:30-2:30 p.m. March 15. All supplies will be provided. Registration is required. Call (479) 474-6045 to reserve a spot.
Learn how to grow strawberries
Isaac Witt will lead a strawberry class at 9 a.m. March 24 at The Learning Fields, 7300 Gardener Ave. at Chaffee Crossing. Witt will show participants how to grow and maintain strawberry plants at home. Cost is $20, which includes 10 strawberry plants. Additional plants will be available for sale.
Buy, sell, trade at Hamfest
The Fort Smith Area Amateur Radio Club will host the 2018 Hanging Judge Hamfest at 8 a.m. April 7 at the Sebastian County Emergency Communications and Training Facility, 8400 S. Zero St. The event will include hourly door prizes and a flea market and tailgaters area with new and used amateur radio equipment for sale.
Admission is $5 per person at the door. Children 16 and younger admitted free with a paid adult admission.
