Dan Burton Outdoor Expo

The free Dan Burton FCA Outdoor Expo is set for Sept. 13 and 14at Kay Rodgers Park in Fort Smith. Hours are 1 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14.

The expo includes the Paul Bunyan Lumber Jack Show, Gator Country Show, more than 100, and raffle prizes including a GC1K Intimidator ATV, an African Safari Hunt and a Drift Hot Tub, plus many more.

There will also be several interactive games and displays for the whole family.

Experience Freddy Mercury

Byrdfest Music & Arts Festival

Talented tributes to Led Zeppelin and the Grateful Dead, original music, family friendly camping, “fire performers” and more will be among the bright spots at one area event, according to one official.

Set to take place Sept. 13-14 at Byrd’s Adventure Center, 7037 Cass Oark Road in Ozark, the Byrdfest Music & Arts Festival will boast musical performances by The Schwag: Grateful Dead Experience; The Hindenburg Project: Led Zeppelin Tribute; Aarom Kamm & the One Drops; Rachel Ammons; Molly Adamson; Sublime Tribute: Lou Dog; Deep Sequence; and Flintwick, among others, said Jimmy Tebeau, a promoter for the event.

Advance adults tickets for the festival are $60 for both nights and $30 for Sept. 14 only. Children 10 and younger can attend free. Tickets can be purchased at Byrdfest.com and at EventBrite.com. Tickets will be $75 at the gate for both days and $40 for Sept. 14.
