In addition to the car show downtown this weekend (see complete story), here are some of the entertainment and other options occurring in, or a short driving distance from South Logan County in the coming days.
A junior rodeo will be held by the Double D Rodeo Company at the South Logan County Fairgrounds arena in Booneville on May 10 and 11. The rodeo, which is a fundraiser for the South Logan County Fair, starts at 7 p.m. each night.
Tickets are $6 and kids 4 and under are admitted without charge.
Join in an evening filled with a bonfire, music, and outdoor activities from 6 to 9 p.m. on May 10, at the Janet Huckabee Nature Center, located at 8300 Wells Lake Road in Fort Smith.
This event will show participants the fun that can be had when good friends join in around a good old bonfire.
There is no admission charge.

Country rock legends, Kentucky Headhunters, who have been performing together for 50 years, will perform a free concert at Gilley’s inside the Choctaw Casino and Resort in Pocola, Okla., at 9 p.m., Saturday, May 11.
The group has released eight studio albums, three compilations and 23 singles. In addition, the band has won three Country Music Association awards, an Academy of Country music award and a Grammy Award for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with vocal. Hit songs include “Dumas Walker,” “Honky Tonk Walkin” and “The Ballad of Davy Crockett.”
