U.S. Rep. Bruce Westerman was reappointed to the House Committee on Natural Resources this week and will serve on two of its subcommittees.
Westerman, a Republican representing Arkansas’ 4th District, will serve on the Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources and the Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests and Federal Lands.
“Natural resources are driving economic forces in Arkansas’ Fourth District,” Westerman said in a news release Wednesday. “Arkansas is home to some of our nation’s most beautiful public lands, and it is an honor to continue policy efforts for the proper stewardship of our national parks, federal forests and energy resources.”
Westerman thanked Republican Ranking Member Rob Bishop of Utah for the appointments, and said he looks forward to working with him and the other committee members.
The House Committee on Natural Resources considers and oversees legislation regarding national parks, forests, federal lands, wildlife, oil and gas, mineral resources and water.
New Republican members of the committee include U.S. Rep. Kevin Hern of Oklahoma’s 1st District.
