Here are a few of the things going on in the South Logan County or surrounding area in additoin to the Magazine Christams parade on Saturday in the coming days.

Live Nativity

Starting Point Church in Magazine will hold its 3rd annual live drive through nativity at the church on Dec. 9-11, entering the church property from Elkins Road.

Starting times are 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9 and 6 p.m. on Dec. 10 and 11.

There will be free hot chocolate and treats for everyone.

Winter Vista Walk

Now that most leaves have fallen, Mount Magazine’s rugged beauty is revealed. Take a guided walk to the edges of high cliffs overlooking a vast landscape from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 9. Meet at the Brown Springs Picnic Area

Radio Christmas

Fort Smith Little Theater’s 2017 Christmas Production “An Old Time Radio Christmas” will be wrapping up the FSLT’s 70th Season, and will be onstage for three nights from Dec. 7-9 at 7:30 p.m. Doors will open at 6:45 p.m.

This variety entertainer directed by Jill Moody-Ledbetter, is set in the 1950s, and will bring up many classic elements of the holiday season that we have grown to adore.

Tickets are only $5 each at the door. No reservations taken and the open seating is first-come-first-served.

Train Ride

A new “Holiday Express” train is up and running at Creekmore Park for children to ride this holiday season.

The new No. 200 train is an electric replica of the No. 999 steam engine that stopped working more than a year ago. The steam engine had been in operation since 1949.

The 18th annual holiday express will continue to run through Dec. 23. It will be available for rides from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The event is free, although attendees may donate.
