Every time Booneville has enterd the final regular season game of a season — Friday marked the 16th time in school history — they have gone on to finish perfect.

On Friday night in Pulaski County Bryson May ran for 130 yards and four touchdowns and Cody Harrel added 122 yards and a touchdown as the Booneville Bearcats ran over Maumelle 47-17 to win a conference title.

May scored on runs of 11 and 3 yards in the first quarter as Booneville (10-0, 7-0 Conference 4A-4) jumped to a 14-0 lead.

May’s third touchdown run, of 2 yards, made it 21-3 before Maumelle (8-2, 6-1) scored with 10 seconds to go in the first half on a 1-yard run by Tyshun Robinson.

Harrel ran 46 yards for a touchdown at the 6:48 mark of the third quarter but the Hornets answered just over two minutes later on a 12-yard Corey Cullins run and it was 28-17.

After that, it was all Booneville.

May scored for the fourth tim on the first play of the final quarter to make it 34-17 and a touchdown run by Justin Shackleford made it 41-17.

Dalton Gray added the exclamation point when he recorded a sack, fumble caused, and a scoop and score.
