Booneville’s basketball teams racked up multiple individual honors at the conclusion of the 2012-13 season.

In all, three Bearcats and two Lady Cats received honors at either the district or state level.

Senior Jacob Lear and junior Cody Harrel were named All-District for their efforts in helping the Bearcats to their first-ever state tournament berth.

Lear led the team in scoring at 11.2 points per game and in three-point baskets with 54, while Harrel set a Bearcat record for assists in a season with 111 while averaging almost nine points and five rebounds per game.

Senior Alex Scott was named to the All-State Tournament team. His big game (14 points and seven rebounds) against Malvern helped the Bearcats advance to the quarterfinals. For the season, Scott led in rebounds, was third in scoring and led the team in charges taken with 17.

For the Lady Cats, senior Brittany Ward was named to the All-State basketball team for Class 4A.

Ward, the Lady Cats’ third all-time leading scorer, averaged almost 16 points per game while also leading the team in assists, steals, charges taken and three-point baskets. She is the first Lady Cat to be named All-State since Amy Swint in 2003.

Leah Lloyd received All-District honors after finishing second on the team in points and rebounds. The senior averaged 6.7 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
