The Rattler Run typically serves as a late-season indicator for coaches to use to determine strategies going into the district meet. With conference powers Magazine, JC Westside, and Hackett at the meet it worked out well.
In the junior girls division, Magazine flexed a little muscle by gaining their first championship plaque of the season. Hannah Smith and Lauren Ryan led the way finishing 1st and fifth followed closely by Braylea Mathews (12th), Emily Staton (13th), and Taylor Schulte (15th).
Montana Burris (27th), Victoria Smith (29th), Lynsey Wilkins (32), and Kalyn Bryan (34) pushed the limits as well. Mary Lee, Mikayla Lamirand, and Ashtyn Vanderhaak finished out the Rattler scoring for the day helping lead the Lady Rattlers to their first place finish.
Max Greb, Levi Wright, and Jesse Witt turned in outstanding performances leading the Rattlers to a 4th place finish at the 10 school meet. Landon Gilbert and Jeran Springer turned in their best runs of the season followed in order by Troy Blake, Levi Reed, Charles Lewis, Pacen Roberson, and Adam Brink.
The senior girls division proved to be the most exciting race of the day with JC Westside edging Mansfield and Magazine with a 50-50-52 score with Westside winning by tiebreaker.
Kaitlynn Ryan (2nd), Brittney Bryan (6th), Staysha Faught (13th), Kayla Canada (19th), Heather Bryan (29th), and Hope Kohler (31st) ran their best meet of the year. They hope this propels them into a great race Saturday at the conference meet.
In the senior boys division, Hunter Chastain ran the fourth fastest time in Rattler history to win the Rattler Run leading Keith Dority (14th), Jason Chambers (20th), Jon Christensen (21st), Cody Lewis (25th), Cole Emberson (31st), and Andrew Roark (35th) to a 4th place finish.
