Kenzie Graham became the second Magazine Lady Rattler to be invited to play in the Arkansas High School Coaches Association All Star game when rosters were announced last week.
Graham, a three-year starter who led the Lady Rattlers to a share of the Conference 2A-4 West title and a 27-5 overall record, will be joined on the West bench by her head coach.
As he was when Hope Raggio became the first Lady Rattler named to the squad, Loyd is an assistant on the West staff. Charles Berry of Huntsville is the head coach.
Graham scored 1,344 points in her career for the Lady Rattlers. She averaged 16 points per game and 8.9 rebounds per game during her senior season. She has been All Conference and All State three times and has been named to the All State Tournament team twice.
Also joining Graham on the bench will be Maddie Backus of Mountainburg. It was Backus and the Lady Dragons with whom the Lady Rattlers shared the conference title this season, earned when Graham hit a shot from half court at the buzzer to pull out a two-point win.
Both also scored 27 points in a game that Mountainburg won in Crawford County in December.
Graham scored over 20 points nine times, despite often being done early. She scored 18 in the first quarter of a game against Eureka Springs and watched the rest of the night and score 19 in a quarter against Johnson County Westside on senior night.
The 58th annual Arkansas High School Coaches Association all star week is set for June 17-21 on the campus of the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. The basketball game will be held on June 20 at the Farris Center.
