Heather Bryan made her final game in Diamondback Arena a memorable one by hitting six 3 pointers and scoring 20 points in a senior night win over Decatur Thursday.

Senior Rattlers were not as fortunate in their final home game, but they did pick up an overtime win at Johnson County Westside.

The Lady Rattlers entered the district tournament as the four seed. The Rattlers were seeded seventh.

Lady Rattlers 41 Decatur 12

Heather Bryan hit twice from beyond the arc in the first quarter and with a basket by fellow senior P.J. Jones Magazine was up 8-2 after a quarter.

The Lady Bulldogs managed only a single free throw in the second quarter and it was 19-3 at the half. Heather Bryan hit her third 3 in the quarter and Jones added four point of her own and Tierra Phillips, another senior, also scored three.

Seniors Brittany Bryan got into the act with a pair of baskets and a 3, respectively and with 11 points from Heather Bryan it was 37-4.

Decatur 59 Rattlers 43

After being shut out in the opening quarter the Rattlers were down 12-0.

Cody Cherry got Magazine on the scoreboard with the first of his 10 points and Jason Lovell added seven second quarter points but it was 38-11 at the half.

Cherry scored six third quarter points but the deficit grew to 49-23.

Austin Phillips scored 10 points for the Rattlers in the final quarter.

Rattlers 52 JC Westside 49

A team effort that included four free throws by Keith Dority and offensive contributions from Jason Lovell, Cody Cherry and Donovan Shelton propelled the Rattlers to an 11 point extra session and their second win over the Rebels this season.

Cherry and Dority and scored twice each in the first quarter and it was 12-10 but single buckets from the same duo and a Cherry free throw were it for the second quarter and Westside led 23-17.

Andrew Estep hit a pair of 3s for the Rebels in the third quarter but Jason Lovell countered with eight of his team-high 17 to keep magazine in it.

Lovell had five more in the final quarter and six points from Brett Haney and a 3 from Austin Phillips got Magazine into a tie at 41-41.

JC Westside 42 Lady Rattlers 36

Tierra Phillips scored 10 points and Adrianna Thomas added eight in a loss for the Lady Rattlers.

Thomas had four of hers in the first quarter but Westside led 14-8. It was 22-17 at the half after the Lady Rebels converted six free throw opportunities.

Madison Cotton hit a 3 in the third quarter to help keep Magazine within striking distance but Phillips’ two buckets and a 3 by Heather Bryan in the fourth would not be enough.
