NOTES: The last time Booneville and Clarksville played the Bearcats were almost perfect. Booneville had the ball eight times that night and they scored eight touchdowns in a 53-14 win at Clarksville’s Metheny Field on Oct. 14, 2011.
The quarterback that night was Taylor Hyatt and while he ran for a modest 55 yards, he scored three touchdowns, after having not scored a touchdown the first six weeks of the year. Hyatt also threw for 88 yards and a touchdown, to current student assistant Cody Harrel, who was a sophomore. Anthony Napier ran for 209 yards that night as well.
The last time the teams schools in Booneville was in 2010 when Talor Tatterson ran for 255 yards.
THIS DATE IN BEARCAT HISTORY: Since this is the so-called Week Zero game, this is the earliest Booneville has ever opened its season. Before tonight Booneville has played eight games in the month of August and is 6-2 in those games, the last being an Aug. 31 loss to Ozark in 2012.
LAST NIGHT: The Booneville 7th Grade Bearcats beat Clarksville 32-28 behind 190 yards, three touchdowns and four 2-point conversions by Dax Goff. However it was Rylynn Ray's 2-yard run with :01 to play that put the Bearctas (1-0) in the lead.
The Junior High Bearcats (0-1) had Randon Ray run for 238 yards on just 13 carries, score four touchdowns and a 2-point conversion but it wasn't enough in a 34-26 loss to the Panthers.
