Ulmer ran for touchdown, threw for one in scrimmage played in Russellville Thursday.
The Booneville Bearcats fell behind Dardanelle 6-0 before scoring on three straight possessions for a 21-6 scrimmage win over the Sand Lizards in a game played in Russellville.
The three drives covered 205 yards and took just 15 plays.
During the first scoring drive Brandon Ulmer had just run 28 yards for a first down to get the Bercats to the and Lizard 11-yard line. On the next play as he and Carson Ray met a Dardanelle coach screamed “fullback!”
The Sand Lizards collapsed on Ray and Ulmer went 11 yards untouched into the end zone to complete a 70-yard drive for a 7-6 Bearcat lead with the first of three straight point after kicks by Gavin Kent.
On Booneville's next snap, Ulmer threw a 75-yard touchdown pass to Ian Suttles.
Evan Schlinker also directed a seven-play scoring drive, getting the touchdown himself to wrap up the 21-6 win.
Ulmer ran for 61 yards on just five carries and threw for 82 yards hitting on his two pass attempts. Ethan Dobbs had the other reception for a first down on the first Bearcat possession.
Ray also ran for 47 yards and, participating in seven tackles, Anthony McKesson led the defense.
