The Magazine Lady Rattlers were shut out in their official season opener at Paris last Tuesday.

The Lady Rattlers had faced Greenwood the previous afternoon but the game was considered a scrimmage. Thursday the Lady Rattlers were expected to face Western Yell County but that game was pushed back to Friday afternoon due to excessive rainfall on Tuesday and Wednesday making the field unplayable.

The Lady Rattlers struck out 17 times in the game with every spot in the order fanning at least once.

Magazine managed just three base-runners. Courtney Stone singled with two down in the first and Addison Bennett singled in the fifth and reached again in the seventh. All three times the runner was stranded at first.

Paris led 3-0 going to the fifth when they broke the game open with five runs. Jadyn Hart already had two hits and two runs ans would single and score again in the fifth. Hart made it a 4-for-4 day with her fourth run scored in the sixth when the Lady Eagles stretched the lead to 9-0.

Lady Rattlers 18 Western Yell County 1

The Lady Rattlers finished a busy first week by pounding Western Yell in their home opener, 18-1.

After taking a 3-0 lead in the first inning the Lady Rattlers scored five times in each of the next three frames and coasted to the win.

Six Lady Rattlers scored at least twice in the game, including four each by Courtney Stone and Savannah Cessna and three apeice by Braylea Mathews and Reagan Pickartz. Cessna, Stone, Reagan Pickartz and Taryn Leslie all had two RBI games as well.
