First Friday night home games since Dec. 15
Playing at home on a Friday for the first time since Dec. 15, the Rattlers and Lady Rattlers had little trouble with Mulberry.
The Rattlers (14-9), who lost at Mulberry last month, led by 21 before a Yellow Jacket run cut it to eight, only to have the Rattlers pull away for a 49-35.
The Lady Rattlers (9-16) got off to a slow start but lit it up from beyond the arc in the middle quarters of a 58-27 win.

With four players contributing, Magazine scored the first nine points of the game and allowed Mulberry only 9 first half points and led 20-9.
Todd Brown got the Yellow Jackets on the board at the 2:30 mark of the opening quarter and Mulberry actually got within 9-5 before baskets by Randon Baumgartner and Landen Gilbert made it 13-5 with 7:42 left in the first half.
A free throw by Brown made it 13-6 and it stayed that way until a pair of Max Greb free throws with 4:39 left in the half.
Baskets by Greb and Caleb Hyatt — one of only two bench players to get into the game for the Rattlers — and a free throw by Baumgartner closed out the Rattler first half scoring.
The Rattlers seemingly took the game over in the third quarter, leading 27-9 after a three-point play by Baumgartner and by 21 after Matt Smith hit a free throw with 1:07 left in the quarter.
It was still a 17 point game at 39-22 when Baumgartner hit his third and fourth free throws of the final quarter — he was perfect on eight attempts in the quarter and finished with a game-high 18 points.
Mulberry needed just 2:04 to trim the lead to 39-31 as Rick Reeves hit his fourth 3. He led the Yellow Jackets with 12 points.
After a Rattler time out they turned the ball over but Mulberry couldn’t capitalize and Magazine got two Baumgartner free throws, a basket from Gilbert and six more free throws from Greb, Baumgartner and Trevor Blake — the Rattlers were 12-of-14 in the quarter and 25-of-35 for the night at the line.
Gilbert and Greb finished with eight points for the Rattlers.

The Lady Rattlers turned the ball over out of the time out and went on to trial 9-2 after an Emily Fowler basket with 5:05 left in the first quarter.
The Lady Rattlers battled back to within 12-8 by the end of the quarter and started taking the game over during a 15-3 second quarter that saw Reagan Pickartz and Lauren Ryan hit 3s.
For Ryan that it was her second. She would hit two more in the third quarter, as would Pickartz, and Kelsey Krigbaum made it five in the quarter and the lead was 45-24.
Pickartz would score from inside the arc in the final quarter and finished the night with a game-high 17 points. Ryan also put in a shot from in the lane and finished the night with 14.
Vasquez also finished off a 16 point night and Taryn Leslie scored to give the Lady Rattlers a 30 point lead.
Amanda Jones led Mulberry with 11. Madyson Hudspeth scored eight points and had a game high 10 rebounds.
