The UAFS men’s basketball team is home for the holidays this season.

UAFS has previously played in classics at different locales throughout the country during the Thanksgiving weekend, but this season, the No. 9 Lions will host the Hampton Inn Thanksgiving Classic on Friday and Saturday at the Stubblefield Center.

The Lions will be one of four teams competing in the two-day event that includes the Southeastern Oklahoma State Savage Storm, the Nebraska Kearney Lopers and the Missouri Western Griffons.

UAFS (5-0) will play Nebraska-Kearney at 7 p.m. on Friday, while Missouri Western will play Southeastern Oklahoma State at 5 p.m. Southeastern Oklahoma State will play Nebraska-Kearney at 1 p.m. on Saturday, and UAFS will play Missouri Western at 3 p.m.

Live statistics will be available for all games, and live stream will be available for all UAFS games. UAFS games also will be broadcast on KHGG-AM 1580 and 101.1 FM.

It will be the fourth game of a six-game home stand for the Lions, who are ranked No. 1 in the in the latest D2SIDA South Central Region Poll. The Lions are coming off an 81-62 win against John Brown on Monday night at the Stubblefield Center.

The Lions average 94 points per game with four players averaging double-figures in scoring – senior guard DaVaunta Thomas (15), senior guard Darrion Strong-Moore (14.4), sophomore guard Kyree Elder (12.8) and senior guard Ladarius Coleman (12.6). Elder leads the team in assists per game (3.8).
