The Booneville Bearcats and LadyCats both won a 9-hole tournament they hosted at Cherokee Creek Country Club on the first day back to school.

The win is the second for the LadyCats in two tries. A match scheduled for Tuesday of last week was postponed due to wet conditions in Dardanelle.

With two sub-40 totals, the Bearcats were 12 strokes ahead of second place Charleston. Blakely Cobb shot a 38 and Chandler Fritsche a 39. With Austin Baker turning in a 41 the team total was 118. Brandon Walthall of Charleston was the third golfer under 40, matching Fritsche’s 39.

After Charleston’s 130, was Ozark at 139, Dover at 141 and Waldron at 148.

Also competing for the Bearcats was Hudson Rogers and Anson Suttles.

Leading the LadyCats was both Faith Preston and Mackie Plymale who both shot a 50. With Baylee Moses turning in a 52 total the 152 combined score was 18 strokes ahead of Dover and 22 better than Ozark, the only teams with enough golfers to compete for the team title.
