The Magazine Rattlers went into the three-day weekend on the heels of a three game sweep of blended conference foes, including avenging an earlier loss to Danville on Thursday.
On March 28 the Little Johns scored six times in the final two innings to hand Randon Baumgartner a loss.
Thursday it was Baumgartner throwing a complete game allowing four hits while striking out 12 and walking two.
In March it was Dalton Reagan Reagan, who threw six plus innings in Magazine before being forced to exit the game due to reaching the maximum pitch count.
Thursday the Little Johns went with Jake Madding to start it and after three and a third innings the Little Johns turned to Reagan to hold on to a 2-0 lead.
Reagan managed to do so until the sixth when the Rattlers (11-7) hung five on him.
Trevor Blake and Matt Smith singled to open the inning and Baumgartner reached on a sacrifice bunt try to load the bases. A Shaffer Loyd single tied the game at 2-2 and Pace Roberson singled home the go-ahead run for the Rattlers. Colton Young became the second bunter to reach in the inning driving in a run in the process to make it 4-2. Austin Canada was retired when he down the third bunt of the frame, but it scored another run to make it 5-2.
The Little Johns got to Baumgartner for an unearned run in the bottom of the inning. An error turned a single into three bases to open the inning and a ground out by Madding cut it to a two run game.
Baumgartner hit a man with two down in the seventh to bring the tying run to the plate but he struck out Evan Lane to finish it.
Danville led 1-0 after one on a double by Zach Stanley and stretched its lead to 2-0 on a double by Lane in the fifth.
Rattlers 8 Scranton 1
A walk, and error and an Alex Bailey single plated a run for the Rockets in the first and it stayed that way until the fourth when Matt Smith doubled leading off the inning and scored on a single by Randon Baumgartner to tie the game.
Baumgartner then took over on the mound and set down six straight before the Rattlers erupted in the sixth against Willliam Silveria.
Shaffer Loyd was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to score the go-ahead run. Pacen Roberson put down a bunt with everyone safe, and Deven Chappell followed with another to score a run with the out recorded.
A two run single by Austin Canada made it 6-1 and with two down Chuck Lewis singled out of the nine hole and it was a six run inning and a 7-1 lead.
Loyd walked and Roberson doubled in the seventh and a ground ball by Chappell made it 8-1.
Rattlers 13 Mountainburg 1
The Dragons had their opportunities in the first inning of a game that would eventually be shortened to three innings due to the weather.
Trevor Blake benefited from Mountainburg having two runners out on the base paths in the opening inning and was down just 1-0 after Elijah Wilson singled home a run but was caught trying to steal.
In the bottom of the inning Pacen Roberson drove in a run with a ground out, Devin Chappell singled one home, Austin Canada drew a bases loaded walk to score one and a throwing error got a fourth run home.
A Matt Smith double made it 5-1 in the second and a wild pitch followed by two errors saw the lead grow to 9-1 before the frame ended.
Smith singled home another run as did Randon Baumgartner and both scored on wild pitches in the third before a Roberson single made it 13-1 and a lightning strike led to the game being called.
