The Magazine Lady Rattlers split two games last week, getting a shutout pitching performance from Courtney Stone on Friday to beat Johnson County Westside.

The Lady Rattlers scored two third inning runs and Courtney Stone made them stand up, striking out nine while walking only one.

Lindsey Wilkins and Emily Staton were aboard in front of Victoria Thompson in the third when Thompson hit a shot to left to make it 1-0.

After Stone reached to load the bases with one away, Reagan Pickartz singled to center to score Staton and it was 2-0.

Westside mounted a threat in the fourth, loading the bases with nobody down but Stone got a ground ball force play at home, a strike out and a ground ball to end the inning.

After she allowed a single to open the fifth Stone retired the next nine Lady Rebels in order to end it.

Scoring nine times in their final two at bats , the Hector Lady Wildcats pulled away for a 15-1 win in a regulation length game.

Hector jumped to a 6-0 lead through an inning and a half and it stayed that way until the bottom of the fourth when Braylea Mathews doubled to left, moved to third on a ground ball by Jayce Watson and scored on another grounder by Courtney Stone.

The hit by Mathews was the only one of the day for the Lady Rattlers.

Hector opened a 10-1 lead with one out in the sixth but Stone got a strike out and fly ball to extend the game.
