The Magazine Lady Rattlers had no trouble with Yell County teams then split a pair of games in a tournament they hosted Saturday.

The three win week got the Lady Rattlers to .500 (6-6 on the season).

Lady Rattlers 14 Danville 4

Scoring nine times in their first two at bats, the Lady Rattlers were never in danger against the Lady Little Johns as they ended a 12 day layoff with a 14-4 five inning win over Danville last Tuesday.

The Lady Rattlers scored four times with two down in the first inning with a Savanna Cessna double capping the damage.

After Danville got on the scoreboard with a single run Victoria Thompson started a five run second with a walk. Jayce Watson and Courtney Stone had the big hits in the inning before Thompson was retired on strikes to get Danville’s defense off the field.

Leadoff hitter Braylea Mathews struck out and reached, the scored for the third time in the third inning but Danville fought back to 10-4 before a four run bottom of the fifth ended the game early.

In the fifth Mathews scored for the fourth time and Stone for the third, the latter coming on a hit by Kalyn Bryan and providing the 10 run lead necessary to end the game early.

Magazine scored seven times in their first at bat and coasted to a win in four innings. The inning was helped along by four walks, including the first of three drawn by Victoria Thompson and first of two by Taryn Leslie. Magazine also had a strike out victim reach and a hit batter in the inning.

Paige Barr had a double in the inning but also walked in her next two plate appearances.

It was 10-0 after two innings and 13-0 after three.

Barr, Courtney Stone and Adison Bennett all scored three times in the game for Magazine.

In the tournament opener, which was shortened to four innings due to time, the Lady Rattlers jumped out to a 4-0 lead after one and coasted to the win.

Braylea Mathews tripled to open the game and she Paige Barr and Courtney Stone also scored in the inning. Stone singeled with two down in the second and scored again to make it 5-0.

The lead doubled to 10-0 in the third when, after the first out was recored, five straight Lady Rattlers reached, starting with a walk drawn by pinch hitter Lindsey Wilkins. A triple by Barr was the big hit in the inning.

County Line got on the scoreboard in the fourth.

In the tournament semifinals the Lady Gators took a 1-0 lead in the second and blew the game open with a four run third and another in the fifth.

Magazine managed its only run in the fourth when Savannah Cessna singled and Kalyn Bryan doubled.
