The Magazine Rattlers got second place finishes from the 4x800-meter relay and Colton Young in the high jump and Racheal Phillips posted a tie for second in the pole vault to lead the Lady Rattlers at Booneville’s Bearcat Relays last Tuesday.
The Rattlers scored 45 points in the meet and the Lady Rattlers accumulated 49.6.
Phillips cleared 8 feet in the pole vault to tie for second and Lauren Ryan was third in the 1600 and fourth in the 3200-meters.
Fourth place ribbons also went to Hannah Smith in the triple jump and high jump and the 4x800-meter relay team. Placing fifth were Kalyn Bryan in the discus, the 4x100-meter relay team and Aubrie Davis in the 300-meter hurdles.
Phillips finished in a five way tie for seventh in the high jump, Smith was seventh in the 300-meter hurdles and scoring single points were Kia Yang in the 800-meters and Marley Littleton in the 400-meters.
Young high jumped 5’ 11” which tied for first but he lost the tiebreaker to take second and the 4x800-meter relay team finished in 13:14.83
Placing third in the 1600-meters was Levi Wright and he was also fourth in the 3200-meters and Young was fourth in the long jump.
The 4x100-meter relay team took fifth. Jesse Witt was sixth in the 800 and Chase Gibson was tied for sixth in the high jump.
Taking seventh in the disc was Justin Mott and eight place finishes were by Andy Yang in the 3200-meters and Ashton Wallace in the 110-meter hurdles.
Tannea Thomas and Hannah Green won two field events to lead the Jr. High Lady Rattlers efforts in a 35 point day at Bearcat Relays Thursday.
Thomas’s shot put effort of 36’ 4” easily on that event and Green’s 8 foot pole vault was a winner due to fewer misses.
The next highest finish for the Lady Rattlers was Taryn Leslie going fifth in the triple jump. She was also seventh in the long jump.
The 4x100-meter relay team was sixth, the 4x800-meter relay team took seventh and the 4x400-meter relay team was eighth.
Also finishing seventh was Lauren Littleton in the 400-meters and in eighth was Michael-Ann Dobson in the 800-meter run.
Led by Caleb Hyatt’s second place shot put of 45’ 10 ½ inches the Rattlers managed 29 points.
It should have been 35 but a scoring snafu omitted Tatum Scott from the 400-meter results though is 57.78 was the third best of the night. Scott was also third in the long jump.
Hyatt added a fourth place finish in the high jump and the 4x400-meter relay team took fourth as well. The 4x100-meter relay team went sixth.
The Rattlers’ 4x800-meter relay squad was eighth, as was Hyatt in the discus.
