Bearcats, Rattlers both have 14 wins.

Booneville's and Magazine's boys both got their 14th wins of the season last night, both having to survive to get them.

In Cedarville it took the Bearcats overtime and splendid free throw shooting to beat back the Pirates, 62-52. It was 54-51 with 76 seconds to go in the extra session.

For the night Booneville (14-8, 7-3) hit 16 of 18 free throws, 87 percent, including a perfect 8-of-8 by Adam Haney, who scored 17. Sophomore Logan Bradley added 15 points.

For Cedarville it was Justin Shelley scoring 20 points and Heath Earnhart scoring 14 and grabbing 13 rebounds.

In Magazine, for the second time in a week the Rattlers erased a second half double digit lead against a Yell County opponent.

This time the Rattlers (14-7, 7-2) were down 12 almost two minutes into the final quarter but went on a 14-2 run to win it that included a 12-0 run to tie it.

Matt Smith hit the game winner with under 10 seconds to play. Smith had also started the rally with a conventional three point play. He finished with 11. James Burr scored half of his 18 points in the final quarter, including hitting a free throw to tie the game at 43 and two more to tie it at 45.

Randon Baumgartner also scored 14 and Quentin Tolbert led Danville with 10.

Cedarville and Danville were the victors in the girls games with the Lady Pirates beating Booneville  46-23 behind 16 points from Patience Wise — Beth Wilkinson had 12 for Booneville (4-12, 2-6) and the Lady Little Johns beating Magazine 46-34 behind 14 points from Jamie Drywater — Hannah Smith led Magazine (12-11, 4-5) with nine.

The games were played on Thursday this week due to the annual Beta Club convention in Little Rock.
