With Dardanelle quarterback Elyas Carter throwing for 252 yards and two touchdowns and running for 99 yards the Sand Lizards put an end to a three game Bearcat winning streak in Dardanelle last night.=
Carter, who was 19-for-27 but was picked off once, connected with Carter Chandler for 46 yards and a touchdown in the first quarter and with Tate Vestal for 32 yards and a score with 9:38 to go to set the eventual 17-7 final.
Carter had a hand in 351 of 375 yards Dardanelle (6-2, 4-1 Conference 4A-4) gained in the game.
Booneville's only touchdown also came by way of the air when Brandon Ulmer hit Ethan Dobbs for 51 yards just 37 seconds before the half.
A 23-yard Temo Martinez field goal had given Dardanelle a 10-0 with with 8:13 left in the half.
Working from the shotgun most of the second half, Ulmer would throw the football 21 times but complete just 8 for 137 yards. He also threw four interceptions.
Dobbs, a sophomore like his quarterback, would have a big night statistically with 87 yards on five catches. The other receptions went to Trent Wooldridge, Hayden Fennell and Caleb Draper.
The Bearcats (4-4, 3-2) were limited to only 100 yards on the ground and it was Ulmer who led the way there too with 57 yards on 15 carries.
