Mary Esther Barnard
Mary Esther Barnard, passed away June 18, 2013 at the age of 98. She was born Aug. 8, 1914 in Logan County to Benjamin H. and Gertie Harwell Springer.
She is survived by one daughter, Joyce Southerland and husband Charles of Booneville; one son, Freddie Pearson of Booneville; one granddaughter, Amanda Birnbaum and husband Adam of Stamford, Connecticut; two grandsons, Vance Lee Pearson and wife Mary of Amarillo, Texas and Steven D. Pearson of Texas; three great grandchildren; four half-brothers Ralph Springer of Glendale, Arizona, Ben Springer of Booneville, Arkansas, John Springer of Duncan, Oklahoma, Tommy Springer of Jeffersonville, Kentucky; one half-sister, Betty Lowery of Waveland, Arkansas; several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by husbands, Chester L. Pearson and Virgil A. Barnard; two brothers, Geral D. Springer, and James H. Springer; half-sister, Fern Sanford; also three step-daughters, Imogene Clayton, Irene Workman, and Sue White.
Mary was a Christian and a member of the Booneville Christian Center which she attended faithfully. She was employed at the Ace Comb Company in Booneville up until her early retirement due to health problems.
The pallbearers were James Roberts, Irl Green, Paul Gene Wisley, Larry Lowder, Burleigh Grimes.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Friday, June 21, 2013 at Roberts Memorial Chapel in Booneville with burial in Carolan Cemetery near Booneville, under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
