Dora Faye Tubbs Harris, 91, of Booneville, Arkansas passed from this life on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018 in Booneville, Arkansas. She was born Jan. 23, 1927 in Prairie County near Des Arc, Arkansas to the late William S. and Fleetie Stanley (Ford) Tubbs.

Dora Faye attended Des Arc High Schools and excelled in basketball during her junior year in 1945 she was diagnosed Tuberculosis and came to the Booneville Tuberculosis Sanatorium where she adapted to the situation. She made many friends, and married RC “RED” Harris and they built their home in Booneville. She worked as an X-ray technician for 17 years at the Tuberculosis Sanitarium and later at the Booneville Hospital for 25 years. She and Red became very active members in the Glendale Baptist Church, where she served as the kitchen supervisor for 13 years.

Her strong faith in God and many friends gave her the strength to overcome adversities and maintain a positive outlook on life and she was a joy to be around.

She is preceded in death by her husband, RC “Red” Harris; sisters, Marguerite Howell, Clara Sue Tubbs, Altus Keegan, and Kathleen Drewery; brothers, Glenny Tubbs, Howard Ford, Woodrow Ford and Archie Ford; and a niece, Virginia Vrooman.

Funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018 at the Glendale Baptist Church near Booneville, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery in Booneville, under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Tuesday morning from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the service at the Glendale Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Joe Earp, Johnnie Reather, Ray Patton, Danny Goddard, Jerry Johnson, Rick Fennell, Bobby Halford, and Dennis Huckabee.

She is survived by four nieces and seven nephews.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Class of David Sunday School Class.
