Bobbie Ann (Foster) Butcher, 84, passed away July 22, 2018 at Greenhurst Nursing Center in Charleston, from complications of a debilitating stroke. Bobbie Ann was under Peachtree Hospice care.
Bobbie Ann was born in the Carolan community, near Booneville, August 19, 1933 to Donald R. Foster and Bertie B. (Ward) Foster. Bobbie Ann worked in Human Resources and retired from the Zurich Insurance Company (formerly The Home Insurance Company) in Atlanta, Georgia. Bobbie Ann also worked in aircraft Maintenance Control and retired from Lockheed Martin in Glendale, Arizona.
Bobbie Ann was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Barker Suttle. Barker served in and retired from the United States Air Force giving he and Bobbie Ann many opportunities to live in and visit many beautiful States in the U.S.A. as well as other Global destinations.
Bobbie Ann is survived by her husband, of 34 years, Marlin H. Butcher, of the home. Bobbie Ann did not have any biological children but is also survived by two stepchildren. Kimberly M. (Butcher) Knihnisky and husband John of Phoenix, Arizona; Jeffrey A. Butcher and wife Joelle of Scottsdale, Arizona; three step grandchildren, Ashland E. Butcher of Melbourne, Australia; Alexander M. Butcher of Portland, Oregon; and Katelyn L. Knihnsky of Phoenix, Arizona.
Bobbie Ann and Marlin loved traveling to many of the beautiful U.S. States in their motor home, rooting for the Arkansas Razorbacks at Bowl games, cruises with friends, and they especially enjoyed their Lake Home in Hiwassee, Georgia. She loved cruising on the lake, with their little poodle.
The family would like to express thanks to the great family members and longtime great friends for their loving thoughts and prayers. A special thank You to Donna Hunter and Nora Aroche. These two ladies would come to visit Bobbie Ann and relieve Marlin, who recently was spending days and nights at Bobbie Ann’s side, to take care of business at home and return to Bobbie Ann’s side. A special thank you to Bobbie K. Leftwich, a physical therapist at Ashton Place in Barling, who poured her heart and soul into trying to get Bobbie Ann through the physical therapy rehab process, but the battle and Bobbie Ann’s condition was just too great. A huge thank you goes out to Greenhurst Nursing Center in Charleston, Nurses and CNA’S.
The funeral service was provided by Roberts Funeral Home in Booneville, with Pastor Jarrell Woodhull conducting the funeral. Burial will be in Carolan Cemetery near Booneville. The funeral service was Thursday, July 26th, 2018 at 10 a.m., Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Booneville. Visitation was on Wednesday, July 25th, 2018 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Pallbearers were Brett Foster, Bruce Smola, Chester Koprovic, Jerry Morgan, Steve Christiansen and Wallace Gattis.
