David Dewayne Townsend, 49, of Ozark, formerly of Booneville, passed from this life on Monday, Feb. 5, 2018 in Ozark. He was born July 6, 1968 in Booneville, to Charles Dewayne and Sharon Kay (Waldon) Townsend.

He was a brick mason for many years then was formerly employed by Magtel. He attended Lakeview Pentecostal Church and then the Old Country Church in Ozark. He loved playing the banjo and was a member of the bluegrass/gospel group “The Karr family and friends”. He served as a volunteer fire fighter in Magazine prior to moving to Ozark. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and hamm radio and playing music with friends.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 7, at the Lakeview Pentecostal Church near Booneville with burial in Sugar Grove Cemetery near Booneville, under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday evening at Roberts Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Rosanna Lea (Bass) Townsend of the home; one daughter, Casey Townsend of Booneville; one son, Hunter Townsend of Booneville; stepsons, Tyler and Aiden Hayward of the home in Ozark; his parents, Charlie and Sharon Townsend of Booneville; one grandson; and other relatives and many friends.
