James Owen Wilkins, 60, of Booneville, passed away in a hospital in Springfield, Mo., on December 31, 2017. He was born on Jan. 2, 1957 in Killeen, Texas.

He was a GM Certified Mechanic and the owner/operator of J&D Repair Service in Booneville, and was a cattleman. He enjoyed working on his farm, anything having to do with cars, traveling and walking through antique malls.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Geraldine Wilkins.

He is survived by his wife, Doris (Marshall) Wilkins of the home; a paternal uncle, M.L. Wilkins and his wife Mary Ann of Magazine; a maternal uncle, James Wendel Duren and his wife Mary of Rose Hill, Kansas; a mother-in-law, Dorothy Marshall of Booneville; a sister-in-law, Dolores (Marshall) Herrman of Greenwood; a brother-in-law, David Marshall of Fayetteville; two nieces, two nephews, and numerous cousins and dear friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m, Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018 at the Old Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church near Magazine with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery in Booneville, under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at Roberts Funeral Home.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Parish and Doug Bridges.
