Ila Mae Newman, 89, of Blue Mountain, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 in her home in Blue Mountain. She was born October 24, 1928 in Dyess, Ark. to the late Ben and Hester (Gotcher) Buggar.

She was a retired from the State Tuberculosis Sanatorium where she was a nurse for many years. She was also a housewife and a hairdresser. She was a member of the Calvary Temple Church in Greenwood. She enjoyed reading the Bible, sewing, and quilting.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Newman, several brothers and sisters, and her parents.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 6, at Roberts Memorial Chapel in Booneville with burial in Blue Mountain Cemetery in Blue Mountain, under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.

Visitation will be From 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, at Roberts Funeral Home.

She is survived by one daughter, Beverly Crawley of Magazine; one son, Keith Newman of Blue Mountain; special nephew, Lonnie Carter of Blue Mountain; two grandchildren, Robbie and Larisa Crawley; three great-grandchildren, Cooper, Trenton and Aiden; and numerous nieces nephews, relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Lonnie Carter, Wayne Corbitt Sr., Adam Carter, Wayne Corbitt Jr., Michael Corbitt, Ricky Carter, Robbie Crawley, and Larry Buggar.
