Doug Cauthron, 89, of Augusta, Kan., passed away Friday, Dec. 22, 2017 in Augusta.

Viewing will be Wednesday 1 to 7 p.m. with family to greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, at First Baptist Church, Augusta. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery Augusta.

Doug was born in Booneville, Arkansas on July 27, 1928, to the late Terry (Foster) and Ellis Winfield Cauthron. Doug attended Booneville High School and served in the National Guard and U.S. Army. After moving to Augusta he worked at Socony Vacuum Oil and later as a car salesman for Parks Motors in Augusta. After the retirement of Fannie Parks, Doug became the owner of Parks Motors. He owned the dealership until retiring in 1990. Doug was a Mason and a member of the Butler County Shrine. He enjoyed participating in parades with the Shrine. Doug was an avid outdoorsman who golfed, hunted, but particularly enjoyed crappie fishing.

On Dec. 24, 1950 he married Norma (Harp) Cauthron in Booneville, Arkansas and she survives him. He is also survived by: daughter, Paula Pressnell and husband Ron of Augusta; brother, Billy Bob Cauthron and wife Peggy of Booneville, Ark.; sister, Helen Couvillion of Fort Smith, Ark.; sister-in-law, Wilene Cauthron of Augusta; grandchildren, Curtis Pressnell and wife Megan and Kyle Pressnell and wife Joyce; great-grandchildren, twins Kaynee and Karter Pressnell; and step great-grandchildren, Kaden and Kenzie Kearney.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bud, Jake and Wayne Cauthron; sisters, Lois Fisher, Merle Partain and Fannie Parks.
