Nancy Evelyn Newman, 80, of Blue Mountain, was born Feb. 17, 1937 in Blue Mountain, to the late Carroll and Lucy (Hall) Newman. She entered heaven’s gate on Saturday, July 29, 2017 in Fort Smith.
She was a member of the Blue Mountain Assembly of God Church for 65 years and taught Sunday school for 63 of those years. She will always be remembered for her world-famous candies, frozen fruit punch and wonderful stories of her youth.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 1, at Roberts Memorial Chapel in Booneville, with burial in Blue Mountain Cemetery, under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
She was loved and will be greatly missed by brothers, Maurice Newman of Greenwood, and Patrick Newman of Benton; sisters, Louise Chamberlain of Magazine and Patsy Roark of Blue Mountain; and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Willie Roark, Michael Newman, Alex Newman, Andrew Roark, Andrew Steele, Jeremy Hall and John Fuchs. Honorary pallbearers are all great-nieces and nephews, Johnie Phillips and Harold Fuchs.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday evening at Roberts Funeral Home.
