Dan E. Houston, 68 of Paris, Ark., passed away on Monday, July 10, 2017 in Paris. He was born on Jan. 23, 1949 in Booneville, to his parents Haskel and Grethel (Hicks) Houston. He worked as a shoe repairman his whole life with several of those years with Duffy’s Shoe Repair in Fort Smith and was a singer and rhythm guitar player for the Chigger Valley Band.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Haskel and Grethel (Hicks) Houston.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Janice (Cline) Houston of Paris; step-daughters, Suzanne Nickerson of Paris, Jill Linn of Paris and Jana Williams of Scranton; step-son, Joey Cline of Sacramento, Calif.; sister, Mary Hagan of Owensboro, Ky.; brother George Houston and wife Judy of Booneville; his nephew, Chris Houston and wife Courtney of Booneville; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
