Allen Ray Pumphrey Sr., 66, of Booneville, passed from this life on Friday, March 17, 2017 near Booneville. He was born July 24, 1950 in Junction City, Ark., to the late John and Opal (Greer) Pumphrey.
He was a retired truck driver and was formerly employed by Jay’s Trash Service. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Cora Pumphrey; and his brother, Jessie Pumphrey.
Funeral services are rescheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 22, at Roberts Memorial Chapel in Booneville, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery in Booneville, under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
He is survived by four daughters, Tammy Dison of Waldron, Janet Bridges of Sterling, Ill., Frances Pumphrey of Booneville, and Michelle Horton of Booneville; one son, Allen Pumphrey, Jr., of Ashdown; four brothers, John Pumphrey of Junction City, Roy Pumphrey of Smackover, Kenneth Pumphrey of Junction City, and Dale Pumphrey of Louisiana; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephewsl; and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Bryant Dison, Shawn Pumphrey, Larry “Cork” Dale, Jeff Sterdivant, Marcus Pumphrey, Dominick Griffin, Courtny Bridges, Carl Uptigrove and Andrew Odom.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday evening at Roberts Funeral Home.
